Was the customer service you received good and did the creditor treat you with respect?
Did the creditor treat you as you expected, in a fair and impartial way?
Were the interest and charges you received from the creditor reasonable?
I paid for 12 months 'interest free' on £1200 of debt. All was well until I used my card to make a purchase of £2500. I paid the interest on the excess amount without any problems. I paid off the £2500 thinking I will have the interest free for my debt which is now under £1200 but they are now charging me interest on this debt. I paid for interest free for 12 months on £1,200 I have 4 months left and they are not honouring what I paid for. Cheeky rip off merchants. Won't be using them again! Do I have a leg to stand on if I complaint. In my eyes this is theft. I won't be using them again. anwar

My card was ticking a long nicely, never missed a payment but was late twice over 4 years so not too bad i guess. Me and the wife were looking to buy our own home so thought lets clear these cards and close them. So we did, or so we thought. We saved and finally had enough cash to clear the full debt. I change my dd to collect the full amount so it wouldn't be late and shouldn't get any further charges. The dd claimed the full amount and I tried to close the account. I was then told I had to pay interest charges (over £100) which was generated on a new monthly statement. I wasn't allowed to close the account until I had. When I questioned the charge I was greeted with nothing but belittling and sarcastic comments even though i had been told that if you clear the balance in full you don't get charged. I would never go back to EGG.

Started out ok until I refused to pay by direct debit, as I wished to pay more than the minimum monthly amount. I cancelled the card but for the following two years, even after asking to be removed from their mailing lists, I continued to be sent satisfaction surveys and other junk mail, with my closed account number still on the correspondence. Advisors on the phone are useless, as are their account managers. Avoid like the plague!

Pour customer service. Started with 15% APR with 0% on transfers and ended up incising to 29.9% after three years and £ 16 charge if you accidentally get over the limit (even if it is £ 1 over).

Oh, man. Egg. It's like a marriage- at first it's all beautiful and exciting. Then it's routine. Then it turns so very sour. Check this out: A little while back I secured a transfer to Ireland with my job. I called Egg and informed them. Told them I would like to close my account. Told them I would destroy my card. They said they were sorry to see me go, wished me luck and promised a closing balance. It didn't come. One month later, resident in good ol' Ireland, I called and asked about this. They claimed to have no record of my previous contact- a tune they were to sing every month for 18 months. I had destroyed my card and my docs were in storage, so unable to profer a card number so they would not discuss my account. This went on- I kid you not- for a year. I called monthly, they refused to speak. I had my chequebook in my hand, ready to write the cheque, ready to pay. No dice. This went on for another six months when I discovered that my account had not been closed and that they had still tried to debit my (dormant) bank account which I had intended to revive on my return to the UK. The Co-Op were sick of me and my non payment to Egg so they cut me loose. I wrote to Egg who finally admitted liability for everything and said I could've just done this and they couldn't work out why it had taken 18 months. Offered me £50 which after a year and a half of banging my head against a brick wall I was just relieved to take. Bit hasty, that. I should've gone to the Ombudsman. To recap: 1. Poor customer service from poorly trained and unmotivated staff. 2. 18 months of unecessary missed direct debits. 3. Expense I incurred over 18 months trying to pay the poxy £1800 I owed. 4. Credit rating (previously good enough for 3k credit card and mortgage offer) vapourised. Can't get spit on in a bank. 5. Derisory compensation. Egg, Thanks for a year and a half of headaches and my shattered credit rating.

Egg, realed me in 5 years ago with 10.9% interest rate 1% cash back on purchases. 5 Years later when I have £14000 on their card they have raised the apr to 14.9% (in no way representative of interest rates for the same period) and reduced the cashback to 0.5%) They are also offering 0% for 6 months and an introductionary rate of 13.2% for new customers. Don't subscribe they'll just raise the rate when your hooked Rip off merchants! Stay away!
