Hi Wayne,
I'm truly sorry that you feel this way, obviously our aim and intention is to give you advise and support while we together work in getting you debt free.
I've had a look into your account today and can see that you have been having trouble with The Money Shop. The nature of the loan means that when you take this loan out you guarantee the payment usually with guaranteed cheques that your bank are obligated to adhere to.
I can see that my colleague Chloe has advised you that the only sure way of preventing The Money Shop from getting this money is to change banks, so these cheques are not obligated. We do not have the power to overwrite these guaranteed payments! I can see that this was not something you were willing to do, which is completely your decision.
I can see similarly on this call you asked for us to make a payment of £7.50 to be made to your creditor, and Chloe advised of our policy that we are sending a token payment of £1 to each of your creditors this month. Yet, when you make your payment on the 10th September this will go out to your creditors in line with the offer proposed to them in the paperwork we sent out in July.
To remind you of the process of setting up your plan with us, your first two months payments made to
DebtLine are retained as initial fees. This means that the full sum is retained, however a £1 token
payment is made to each creditor on the plan for this duration to ensure that a payment is made to
the accounts while we work to get the arrangements in place. We are proud to be one of the only
debt management companies who do send token payments out and the benefit to the plan, is that
your accounts won't default through non-payment.
On your request, I have cancelled your account for you, Unfortunately because you actually joined us on the 17th July and paid your initial fee then, your request for a refund has fallen outside of the seven day cooling off period provided, therefore you would not be entitled to a refund of £200.00. This payment has gone out to your creditors in those token payments as mentioned above.
If you have any further questions then please get in touch, you could give us a call free on 08000 919 991.
Kind Regards,
Haley.
